The Rijeka District State Attorney's Office has filed charges against a 43-year-old man from the area of Kastva. The accused is charged with the criminal offence of grievous bodily harm, based on an incident that took place at the 'Kajot Intacto' hospitality venue in Viškov. According to the prosecution, the attack occurred following a verbal altercation, during which the assailant struck the victim from behind, hitting him on the back of the head.

According to medical reports, the man sustained serious injuries, including a fracture to the base of the middle finger of his left hand. In addition, he suffered a swelling on the right side of his forehead with abraded skin. Given the severity of the injuries, the prosecution has proposed a prison sentence of one year for the accused. In addition, the proposal stipulates that the accused pay 200 euros to the state, as well as cover the costs of the forensic examination, amounting to 393.75 euros.

This is not the first time the accused has come into contact with the judicial system. He has previously been sentenced to a suspended prison sentence of eight months, with a probation period of two years. Given that this is a repeat offence, the prosecution considers the proposed sentence appropriate to the gravity of the crime. The accused will, according to plan, be required to respond to the charges in court, with the court delivering a final verdict after hearing all relevant witnesses and evidence.
