A fire broke out in a warehouse in Košuta on 11 September, with the cause, according to available information, being deliberate. Firefighters quickly responded to the scene, but only managed to extinguish the flames after they had successfully tackled the fire. The warehouse, which is part of a hospitality venue, sustained significant damage. The owner of the complex, a 58-year-old man, stated that he had set the fire deliberately, but that he had not intended to cause damage. Although the fire was quickly extinguished, the damage was estimated at several thousand kuna. Firefighters stated that such incidents needed to be prevented, highlighting the importance of adhering to safety regulations. The warehouse is currently closed, with the owner promising to take all measures to prevent future incidents. Although the incident caused concern, the local community expressed gratitude to the firefighters for their prompt response. The warehouse will reopen after a detailed safety inspection is carried out.
