In observance of Rovinja's Day and the feast of St Euphemia, a traditional fair, 'Traditional Crafts on the Square', was held in the town centre. The event brought together more than 70 exhibitors, confirming the enduring popularity of this form of local art and craft. Participants came from various regions, with exhibitors from the Istrian region particularly highlighted, underscoring the connection between the local community and this cultural event.
The fair offers a unique opportunity to encounter authentic handcrafts, with visitors able to view works by specialists from various trades. Special attention is drawn to the works of craftsmen specialising in traditional materials, such as strap-makers, potters, and blacksmiths. In addition to being an exhibition, the fair serves as a meeting place where a space is created for the exchange of experiences and ideas among craftsmen, producers, and visitors.
The exhibited items encompass a wide range of handcrafts, including products made from natural materials such as stone, reeds, and willow, as well as textile materials. Visitors can also find handcrafts made from olive wood, along with products made from lavender. Furthermore, the fair offers local products, highlighting the importance of preserving local traditions and craft skills.
