Croatian police have issued fines to more than thirty drivers who violated traffic regulations on the A1 motorway section near the Gornja Ploča junction. The incident occurred during the on-site investigation of a traffic accident, with some drivers attempting to pass through the safety corridor in the opposite direction, thereby endangering safety at the junction.
For such behaviour, which constitutes a serious breach of safety, strict sanctions are prescribed. According to available information, the fine ranges between 1,320 and 2,650 euros, depending on the assessment of the offender. The legislation stipulates that six penalty points are imposed in addition to the fine. Special caution is advised, as repeated offences may lead to longer-term measures, although decisions on vehicle confiscation are made exclusively by the court, not the police. The process is strictly regulated, with confiscation taking place within 15 days of the judgment being delivered.
