Police officers are conducting a criminal investigation against unknown perpetrators in connection with a report from an elderly woman. The woman attempted to sell a computer via online advertisements, but the transaction was actually carried out with the involvement of a minor family member, made possible by her carelessness when communicating with strangers.
According to available information, an unknown person contacted the woman immediately after she posted the ad. The woman accessed a link sent by the unknown person and then communicated with individuals posing as an agent and a buyer. During this process, the woman provided her bank card number, CVV code, and expiry date, thereby enabling unauthorised withdrawal of funds.
According to data, nearly 670 euros were withdrawn from the bank account. Police immediately launched an investigation to identify the perpetrator. Investigators emphasised that it is important for citizens to be cautious when communicating with strangers online and not to share sensitive data such as card numbers and CVV codes.
This case has once again highlighted the importance of caution when using the internet, particularly when communicating with unknown persons. Citizens are urged to be careful and not to share sensitive information with strangers. Police will continue their investigation to identify the perpetrator and ensure such incidents do not recur.
