The 30th anniversary of the Dr. Antun Bogdan institution was celebrated on 11 September 2026, marking three decades of continuous work and dedication. The celebration began with a solemn mass at 17:00, held in the church of St. Nicholas in Čakovec, marking the start of this significant anniversary. Following the liturgical part, the festivities continued in the hall of the high school, where many guests, parents, and institution staff had gathered.
This institution has a long and rich history, dating back to 1987, when the idea of establishing a space for children with special needs was first introduced. Over the decades, the institution has gone through various developmental stages, with a significant milestone being in 2006, when the institution came under the umbrella of the Zagreb Archdiocese. It was only after this change that the institution adopted the form of work that is known today, thereby ensuring stability and continuity in the services provided to beneficiaries.
Numerous representatives from the local community were present at the celebration, including the county prefect, the mayor, and the bishop, which further highlighted the importance of this institution to the wider community. Gratitude was expressed to all who contributed to the work and development of the institution, including staff, volunteers, donors, the local community, the Međimurje County, and the Zagreb Archdiocese. This celebration is not only a celebration of the past, but also a reminder of the importance of continuous support and care for children with special needs, and the contribution of all involved in realising these values.
