The fire broke out at an oil refinery in Komsomolsk-on-Amur, a city located in the Russian Far East. The location is more than 6,000 km from the Ukrainian border, making it one of the most distant targets on Russian territory. Russian authorities have not yet determined the cause of the fire, nor have they confirmed any link to Ukrainian attacks by drones.
Meanwhile, a fire was reported at a Wildberries online store logistics hub during the night of 11 August. The facility is located in the village of Novaya Usman in the Voronezh region. According to local Telegram channels, the fire was preceded by several explosions during a Ukrainian drone attack, indicating coordinated action across multiple points.
The governor of the Voronezh region, Alexander Gussev, confirmed that one man, aged 49, was killed in the attacks, while two others were injured. According to his claims, the Russian air defence system successfully shot down all 15 drones targeting the region. Gussev stated that the casualties and material damage resulted solely from the fall of debris from the shot-down drones, not from direct hits.
Reports of fires were also received at other locations, including a power station in Angarsk in the Irkutsk region and industrial facilities in Orsk in the Orenburg region. These claims of fires in Angarsk and Orsk have not yet been independently verified.
Wildberries' warehouses have recently been the target of attacks on multiple occasions, indicating an intensification of targeting logistics infrastructure. The incidents in the Voronezh, Khabarovsk (Komsomolsk-on-Amur), Irkutsk and Orenburg regions occurred within a short timeframe, although no direct links between them have been established.
