At the end of July this year, 62,064 unemployed people were registered in the records of the Croatian Employment Service (HZZ). This figure is 15.2 per cent lower, or 11,119 people fewer, compared to the same period last year. Compared to the previous month, June, a slight increase of 4.4 per cent was recorded, corresponding to an increase of 2,641 people.
According to the latest daily data from the HZZ, 62,435 unemployed people are currently registered with the service. At the same time, 13,408 vacant jobs are available. During July, a total of 12,949 new people registered as unemployed, which is 5.7 per cent fewer than in July last year.
Of the newly registered unemployed in July, the majority, namely 9,117 people (which accounts for 70.4 per cent), came from employment relationships. 1,979 people entered the register from full-time education, representing 15.3 per cent of all newly registered, and 1,853 people from inactivity (14.3 per cent).
On the other hand, 10,308 people left the unemployment register in July. This number is 2.6 per cent lower than in the same month last year. Of the total number of those who left the register, 6,025 people were employed.
The majority of those employed, precisely 5,316 people (88.2 per cent), were employed on the basis of establishing an employment relationship. The remaining 709 people (11.8 per cent) were employed on the basis of other business activities.
